Nathaniel Estill, 36, 419 Scott St., Lima, pleaded guilty to non-support. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 9 a.m. Nov. 1.
Jesus Tapia, Jr., 59, 726 S. Oak St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to rape, a felony of the first degree. He faces between 11 and 16½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. Aug. 12. According to court records, Tapia is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with another, not his spouse, whose age is less than 13 on March 21 in Putnam County. The victim is identified as John Doe, YOB 2008. The records further show Tapia had previously been convicted of violating the law that is substantially similar in Montgomery County Ohio Common Pleas Court in 2002.
Lisa R. Kuhlman, Ottawa, was granted a divorce from Scott A. Kuhlman, Ottawa. They were married Dec. 18, 1999, in Arlington and have no children.
Donald R. Vandercook, Ottawa, and Crystal A. Vandercook, Ottawa, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Jan. 16, 2010, in Madison Heights, Mich., and have four children.
Danny L. Ruiz, 46, 1035 Heritage Trail, Ottawa, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for burglary and 36 months for violating a protection order. He was also sentenced to 18 months in prison for trespass in a habitation, and 18 months in prison for grand theft for a total of nine years in prison. He was given credit for 237 days served. Charges of felonious assault, domestic violence, disrupting public services and violating a protection order were dismissed.
Michael J. Moore, 29, 125 ½ S. Wheeler St., Mount Victory, pleaded guilty to failure to comply. He faces up to 36 months in prison and $10,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 9 a.m. Sept. 9.
Adam E. Alafa, 49, 212 N. Belmore St., Leipsic, was sentenced to 113 days in jail for being in contempt of child support orders. He was found to be in total arrears in the amount of $32,538.99, as of Nov. 30, 2020. He was ordered to make monthly arrearage payments in the amount of $502.51 per month.
