LIMA — There’s a new resource for small business owners in the Lima community.
The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday held a ribbon-cutting to welcome the Community Business Resource Center.
The business, at 3077 W. Elm St., Suite A, Lima, is owned by Chelle Sanders.
Sanders opened the office on May 24 as a way to better serve her clients.
“We are a business development center. We specialize in helping and outsourcing small businesses to give them the ability to be able to grow and scale their business,” Sanders said. “We actually do startup where we do LLC formations. We offer marketing, advertising, social media, managing content, creating content and just a host of different products that we think they would need and we also do web design.”
Sanders was involved in the health-care field as a nurse, then went into the health-care marketing end of things.
“I actually went to school for business development and marketing and after that I pivoted to nursing because I felt like I want it to be where I could actually care for people physically. I did that for 12 years and then I went into health-care marketing so it put the two together. Once I was furloughed I actually just took this on because I knew this was my passion and what I love to do,” Sanders said.
While in health-care marketing she started a business consulting service and did that for 2½ years.
“I decided that I wanted to be able to be in the community where I can help the people here and also to be able to teach them about all the options that they have available so the actual furlough caused me to go more into the business development and doing the online and the consulting and then it kind of took me here,” Sanders said.
Sander’s 18-year-old son works on web design while her 14-year-old daughter helps with social media.
“We were able to take them in and they do a lot of the backend stuff for me so that I can be present here when I have consultations and people come in,” Sanders said.
