Expanded program to help unemployed in Ohio

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has announced an expansion of a federal program that offers intensive re-employment services.

The U.S. Department of Labor is providing more than $146 million to fund the program nationally. Ohio is receiving $5.6 million of that.

The program is designed to improve the job prospects of unemployment claimants and reduce the number of weeks they spend receiving unemployment benefits.
