Jordan asks Biden Administration to outline Portland, Ore., response

LIMA — U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana, wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas seeking information on the Biden Administration’s handling of riots in Portland, Ore.

Jordan cited reports of property damage at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in early April and other violent protests that targeted federal law enforcement officers and businesses in the city.

Jorden first requested the information in March.

“Since our request,” Jordan wrote, “left-wing agitators have continued to vandalize and destroy federal property in Portland, Oregon. … The Biden Administration must not condone continued left-wing violence against federal personnel and federal property in Portland.”
