ONE NEW DEATH REPORTED

There was one new area death attributed to COVID-19 reported in the Ohio Department of Health’s twice-weekly update, released Tuesday.

The newest death involved a Putnam County woman older than 80 who died April 23. It was the first death reported in the region since a Putnam County man older than 80 died April 2. So far, those are the only two deaths reported in a five-county area.

• Fully vaccinated Ohioans will no longer have to quarantine after exposure to someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Tuesday. Ohio’s revised health order applies to all adults outside of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and other congregate settings, allowing those who have been fully vaccinated to continue their daily activities due to the protection of the vaccines.

• Allen County Public Health will host a vaccination clinic from 4-6 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the former Knights of Columbus Hall, 810 S. Cable Road, with both the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine and two-dose Moderna vaccine available. Walk-ins are permitted. To reserve an appointment, go to gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov or call 419-228-4636.

• Allen County Public Health will also partner with community groups and businesses to host on-site vaccination clinics at local churches, apartment complexes and other locations where at least 20 people are present and willing to take the shot. Contact Allen County Public Health at 419-228-4636 to arrange an on-site clinic.

• The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Interim Director Matt Damschroder is alerting the public of fake websites that closely mirror the agency’s official website that are attempting to steal personal and banking information. The addresses of the fake websites in question are: unemployment-ohio-gov.com and ohio-gov.cn. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost informed ODJFS about the fake site, unemployment-ohio-gov.com. Their review found that a Russian server houses the website, using a Chinese domain name. Customers alerted ODJFS to the illegitimate site ohio-gov.cn.
