LIMA — The Lima Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that started at 12:07 p.m. Monday at 1107 N. Baxter St., Lima.
It’s believed the fire started in the kitchen. No one was at home when the fire broke out.
According to reports, the homeowner had gotten behind in paying the electric bill and when he did pay it, the electric company turned on the power at 11:45 a.m.
Items left on the burner caught other nearby items on fire, causing $10,000 damage to the property and another $3,000 to the contents.
