Lima YMCA Lifeguard Certification Class: 6:30-9:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, Lima YMCA, 345 S. Elizabeth St., Lima. Red Cross certification valid for two years. Must be 16 years or older and pass swim test. Fee $225 for YMCA members, $250 for non-members.

LIMA — The Lima YMCA will offer American Red Cross lifeguard certification classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m. May 3 through May 20 at the YMCA, 345 S. Elizabeth St., Lima. The class fee is $225 for members and $250 for non-members. Program includes classroom and pool sessions. Written exam and practice skills exam required for certification. Participants must pass a swimming ability test and be 16 years or older before the last day of the course. Certificates valid for two years.

Certified lifeguards can take a recertification class by appointment for $125.
