April 1

Jennifer Salazar, Pandora, was granted a divorce from Michael E. Salazar, Pandora. They were married Oct. 2, 1993 in Delphos and have four children.

April 12

Larry J. Burkhart, 77, 11420 State Route 634, Cloverdale, was granted his request to waive a trial by jury that was scheduled for May 18. Burkhart is charged with three counts rape and six counts of gross sexual imposition. Putnam County Common Pleas Court Judge Keith Schierloh granted his request for a trial to the court for May 8. The charges stem from alleged sexual activity with a minor (DOB 2005) and another minor (DOB 2006) beginning in May 2017 through October 2019.

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

April 1

Andre Guajardo, 26, 127 S. Easton St., Leipsic, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-offense reckless operation. Sentence: 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $250 fine with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of speeding was dismissed.

Michael A. Rosebrock, 26, 560 Patty Lane, Leipsic, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-offense reckless operation. Sentence: Four points, 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $250 fine, one year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. He was fined $150 for open container. Charges of marked lanes and speeding were dismissed.

April 6

Nathaniel A. Punches, 36, 8420 County Road 10, Hamler, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second offense reckless operation. Sentence: Four points, 30 days jail, 26 days suspended, $250 fine, one year license suspension and credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of traffic control device violation was dismissed.

Richard M. Freed, Jr., 21, 311 E. Cross St., Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to an amended offense of obstructing official business. Sentence: 90 days jail, fined $100, with credit for nine days served.

Jermaine W. Defore, 25, 408½ N. Jefferson St., Van Wert, pleaded guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer. Sentence: 180 days jail, 165 days suspended, $250 fine and six-month license suspension.

Richard M. Hovest, 39, 13029 County Road 3, Pandora, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: Six points, 30 days jail, suspended, $750 fine, one year license suspension. Charges of speeding and open container were dismissed.

Caleb M. Gee, 27, 1152 E. Fourth St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to second offense OVI. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 120 days suspended, $1,000 fine, $475 suspended, three-year license suspension, and complete a drug and alcohol assessment. Charges of reckless operation, driving under FRA non-compliance and failure to comply were dismissed.

David J. Bendele, 37, 7560 German Road, Delphos, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of assault. Sentence: 180 days jail, 178 days suspended.

April 8

David A. Rodriguez, 29, 12721 County Road E, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to driving under OVI suspension. Sentence: 180 days jail, 120 days suspended, $250 fine, one year license suspension, and complete an alcohol and drug assessment.
