Lima schools recognizes ‘Outstanding 11,’ school nurse

LIMA — Lima schools on Monday recognized its Outstanding 11 honorees and its director of nursing for helping the district resume in-person classes during the pandemic.

The Outstanding 11 awards were founded in 2011 to recognize teachers and support staff who motivate and educate children, named after educator Ron Clark’s 11 qualities of an educator.

This year’s honorees include: Shawn Allen, North Middle School; Lauren Anderson, Unity Elementary School; Dena Archer, Independence Elementary School; Kevin Bishop, Central Services; Erica Croft, Heritage Elementary School; Susan Neumeier, Freedom Elementary School; Lyn Sellati, Lima Senior Alternative School; Joanna Walt, Liberty Arts Magnet School; Monet Whirl, West Middle School; Miranda Meffley, South Science and Technology Magnet School; Heather Allison, South Science and Technology Magnet School; Melissa Donald, Lima Senior High School.

Lima schools Director of Nursing Kate Morman was also recognized for her work helping the schools reopen and stay open throughout the pandemic.
