Lima woman found slumped over steering wheel, jailed on drug-related charges

LIMA — A Lima woman was taken into custody on unspecified drug-related charges after she was found last week slumped over the wheel of her vehicle in the parking lot of a local motel.

According to a release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force, assisted by the sheriff’s office, responded Friday to a call involving an individual inside a vehicle parked near the entry door of the Howard Johnson motel, 1920 Roschman Ave., Lima.

The occupant, Michelle K. Godsey, 30, was found inside the vehicle and taken into custody at the scene. During an inventory search to impound the vehicle, deputies located a book bag on the floorboard with a large amount of narcotics and U.S. currency.

Investigators arrived to assist and seized more than 8 ounces of suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl, suspected heroin, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as a firearm, numerous cell phones and $7,240 in U.S. currency.

Additional charges against Godsey are expected to be presented for consideration to a future session of the Allen County grand jury. The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
