International Dark Sky Week marked with events at Schoonover Observatory


International Dark Sky Week: 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, noon to 11 p.m. Sunday, Schoonover Observatory, 670 N. Jefferson St., Lima.

LIMA — The Lima Astronomical Society will observe International Dark Sky Week from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 10 and noon to 11 p.m. Sunday, April 11 at Schoonover Observatory, 670 N. Jefferson St., Lima.

The event includes information, informative videos and talks about light pollution and keeping the skies dark. There will also be observing of select astronomical objects during the day and night, weather permitting, as well as accepting new memberships and donations for the Lima Astronomical Society.
