DELPHOS — A Delphos woman has created a nonprofit organization to help the Ronald McDonald House.

Elizabeth Wurst is selling The Prayer Wheel magnets “to encourage kindness and to renew a sense of awareness of what others are going through and their difficulties and struggles.”

It’s a project she’s been contemplating for about five months.

Here’s how it works. People purchase a magnet for $5 at More to Love Catering, 212 N. Main St., Delphos, in either red, purple or blue.

“So when you purchase a magnet, you put it on your car and you’re out and about running your errands and you see a different colored (Prayer Wheel) magnet on someone’s vehicle,” Wurst said in a video describing the project. “They have a purple one. What you do is, you take your magnet and you swap magnets on the cars and at the same time, you lift a prayer up for that person that you’re swapping with, something small, just three, five seconds, ‘Lord, you know their struggles,’ or if you know them, be specific. Pray for them specifically.”

The person who was inside shopping then comes out and notices a different colored magnet on his car.

“They’ll know that a prayer was said for them and maybe they were having a pretty rough day and maybe that will get them to realize and to feel that people care,” Wurst said.

People are encouraged to post their experience on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag TPW.

The Prayer Wheel Magnets that Wurst is selling have the outline of the State of Ohio on them.

“Because that’s where we’re starting. As we get larger and grow and grow, where you live is where you will buy the magnet. So hopefully when I get to Indiana, I’ll make Indiana magnets. Then we can see how far the magnets travel. If we have an Ohio magnet in North Dakota, how many prayers and blessings did it take to get there to travel that far to show the power of prayer and the power of Jesus? That’s what the whole purpose is. The Prayer Wheel’s actions and goals are circled back to the true power and love of Jesus,” Wurst said.
