LIMA — Rhodes State College is offering a free training course, providing students with the fundamentals of manual machining along with an introduction to working with and programming computer-controlled equipment.
This free course is open to Lima residents 18 and older and will include 42 hours of classroom/lab training and 33 hours of online training through Tooling U. Completing this course will provide students the opportunity to enter the manufacturing environment at an entry level.
Upon course completion, there is an opportunity for the students to sit for the two NIMS exams in order to obtain credentials in measurement, materials and safety, job planning and benchwork and layout. The course will be developed based on the exam guidelines.
To join this class, students must have access to the internet.
Classes will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays from March 9 to April 16.
