Area law enforcement agencies to get state grant funds


COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Office of Criminal Justice Services has announced federal grant funding to support local law enforcement agencies throughout Ohio.

The agency is recommending financial awards totaling more than $541,000 to 56 law enforcement agencies to support training, personnel and equipment needs.

The Shawnee Township Police Department is slated to receive $20,000 for communications needs, while the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is targeted for $17,813 in the form of a deputy retention grant. In Mercer County, the Coldwater Police Department is to receive $1,799 for a new copier and the St. Henry Police Department will be a $4,402 boost for technology needs.
