Machinery accident in Putnam County leaves man injured

CONTINENTAL — A Cridersville man was injured in a machinery accident Monday in Putnam County.

The Continental and Putnam County EMS were dispatched at approximately 1:30 p.m. to 22892 Road H-22 in reference to a subject injured and possibly trapped in machinery.

Upon their arrival it was learned that Tyrel Sanders, 38, of Cridersville, was operating a self-propelled entrenching drill when a pipe became lodged. Sanders was attempting to straighten the pipe when an arm used to manipulate the pipe moved and pinched Sanders’ ankle between the arm and the side of the machine.

Sanders was transported to a Lima hospital by the Continental EMS. Assisting at the scene were the Continental Fire Department and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
