RICHMOND, Va. — Ownership of a new solar generating facility in Hardin County has changed.
According to a news release from officials from Dominion Energy, the company announced one of its subsidiaries has acquired a 150-megawatt solar farm built by Chicago-based Invenergy.
They have also signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Facebook to take the electricity generated at the facility as well as the renewable energy credits.
That agreement was already in place with Invenergy prior to the construction of the solar farm.
This is Dominion Energy’s first solar energy investment in Ohio.
Dominion owns solar arrays in nine other states and has more than 2,200 megawatts of solar generating capacity with nearly 3,500 megawatts of capacity in development.
