LIMA — The cause of a fire that heavily damaged a home Saturday night in Lima is under investigation.
According to Lima Fire Department, it was called to 519 E. Catalpa Ave. around 6:50 p.m. Saturday on the report of smoke in the area.
When they arrived, they found smoke along the roofline and windows of the two-story house.
Firefighters made an interior attack and found fire in the laundry and kitchen areas. The fire had extended to the second floor and into the attic.
No one was at home at the time of the fire.
Damage is listed at $30,000.
The Allen County Auditor’s website lists Doughty Nekosha as the owner of the property, which it valued at $33,800.
