USDA to assist farmers who lost crops in ‘19 floods

WASHINGTON — Farmers who lost crops during natural disasters in 2018 and 2019 may be eligible for financial assistance through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Quality Loss Adjustment Program, which started accepting applications on Wednesday.

Producers in Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Putnam and Van Wert counties are among those potentially eligible for the program, although applications from those counties are restricted to 2019 losses only.

Deadline to apply is March 5.
