Lima Public Library to host Community Read

LIMA — The Lima Public Library has kicked off its first Community Read program.

During January and February, the library will focus on the importance of literacy, sharing perspectives, opening discussion on difficult topics and building a stronger community. There are selected books for all ages.

Community Read kits for children are available at Youth Services or curbside pickup. Children have an opportunity to track their reading for prizes. Teen kits focus on discussion points and activities. Adults may complete a bingo card to earn entries into a prize drawing.

More than a dozen events are planned, including a virtual talk by author Thrity Umrigar. Events begin Jan. 6.
