AMERICAN TOWNSHIP — Two people were transported to area hospitals after being injured in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Cable and Diller Roads.

According to a trooper from the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 5 p.m. Saturday when a Jeep Liberty, which was eastbound on Diller Road, failed to yield at the intersection and struck a northbound Chevrolet Equinox. The impact of the crash pushed the Jeep into a four-door Chevrolet.

American Township firefighters had to extricate one of those injured from the Equinox.

The crash is under investigation. The names of people involved weren’t available Saturday evening.
