Bomb squad dispatched in Allen County domestic dispute

LIMA — A Lima man was taken into custody Tuesday in connection with a domestic incident that ended with the involvement of the Allen County Regional Bomb Squad.

At approximately 4:31 a.m. Tuesday, Allen County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 360 St. Clair Ave., Lima, on a domestic violence complaint. Officers spoke to a woman who reported being physically assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Terry A. Green III. The female said Green purposely damaged property belonging to her and fled the residence prior to deputies’ arrival.

At approximately 11:06 a.m. the sheriff’s office received another call stating Green returned to the residence and was in the process of forcing entry into the home. Deputies subsequently found Green inside the residence. While inside the home, they observed what were described as “potentially hazardous items of concern” in plain view.

The Allen County Emergency Management Agency was dispatched to the scene and requested the bomb squad respond to the scene. Bomb squad members ultimately determined the items were not dangerous in their current state. Evidence was collected from the residence and the investigation is ongoing.

Green, 34, was booked into the Allen County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
