LIMA — The City of Lima, in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Lima‐Allen County Regional Planning Commission, is proposing to construct approximately 1.9 miles of sidewalks at locations around the city.

According to City Engineer Kirk Niemeyer, the proposal would see the installation of 5-foot wide sidewalks on Cable Court, from South Cable Road to Spencerville Road; Shawnee Road, from South Cable Road to Spencerville Road; Spencerville Road, from Cable Court to North Shore Drive; and North Shore Drive, from Spencerville Road to South Pierce Street.

Improvements also include adding Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant ramps with curbs and replacing driveway aprons as needed.

Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2022 and will take approximately 10 months to complete. No right‐of‐way acquisition will be necessary, as the proposed project will be constructed entirely on city property or within city right‐of‐way. No traffic detours will be required.

Comments about the proposed projects may be made in writing to Niemeyer at 50 Town Square Municipal Building, Second Floor, Lima, OH 45801 or by email at Kirk.Niemeyer@cityhall.lima.oh.us.
