UNIOPOLIS — Dylan Ralston, 19, owns this classic 1963 Chevy Impala.
He had owned it for approximately two months when he brought it to the Gary Allen Memorial Car Show in July.
“My buddy has a 1966, 1964 and 1962. I found this one that I could afford,” Ralston said.
Ralston has big plans for his car. He is hoping to install hydraulics on it and paint it.
Currently the engine is a 283 automatic.
Chevy Impalas are good cars to install hydraulics, as the trunk space is wide and deep, allowing for the mechanisms. Installing hydraulics is an expression of the owner. Most people install hydraulics and paint the car, top side and underneath, reflecting the owner’s persona.
It’s interesting to note that the younger generation continues to value the classics as their parents once did.
