LIMA — The fourth annual Shawnee Luminary Night will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15 with nearly 350 homes participating with more than 4,000 paper bags filled with sand and white candles in the Indianbrook and Wildbrook neighborhoods.
The event is free to the public, but organizers will collect canned goods, toiletries and monetary donations for the West Ohio Food Bank. For every $1 raised, the food bank can provide six meals to the hungry. Representatives from Basement Doctor will be stationed at both Indianbrook exits to collect donations.
Santa Claus, his crew and a mailbox for letters will also be on hand. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Other groups involved include Beerline TV & Satellite, Beery Insurance Services, Chief Supermarket, N&H Concessions & Kettle Corn, Sidney Electric, Smith-Boughan and Von’s Diamonds and Jewelry.
