TWO DEATHS REPORTED
Two people died, with their deaths attributed to COVID-19, in the 24-hour period ending at 2 p.m. Saturday, according to statistics from the Ohio Department of Health.
One of those new deaths were in Allen County, the other in Putnam County.
• The Ohio Department of Health has adopted new CDC quarantine guidance. A 14-day quarantine is preferred, especially for those who live in care homes or dorms or work in healthcare.
A 10-day quarantine is allowed if 10 days pass and there are no symptoms. A negative test is not required. The countdown begins the day after the last contact with a known positive person. You must self-monitor for the full two weeks.
A seven-day quarantine is allowed if there are no symptoms, if you test negative on day five after exposure or later, and seven days have passed since the last contact. You must self-monitor for the full two weeks.
If symptoms develop, you must follow isolation procedures.
Allen County Public Health does not receive notification of negative test results from labs and cannot provide it to a person’s school or workplace.
• No-cost COVID-19 testing will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.
• No-cost COVID-19 testing will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the UNOH Event Center in Lima. This is not a drive-thru, and people will have to go inside the building. Masks are required will be provided to those who need them.
