WAPAKONETA — Lima Memorial Health System on Monday opened a new medical center in Wapakoneta, part of the health system’s $30-million expansion in the greater Lima region.
The $3.9-million, 16,000 square-foot facility features 21 exam rooms and two procedure rooms; on-site laboratory and x-ray services; occupational health services; multiple check-in and check-out stations; and décor showcasing Auglaize County’s history.
The Lima Memorial Medical Center at Wapakoneta, located at 602 W. Redskin Trail, has already brought on six providers and will eventually include ultrasound, mammography services and other in-demand specialty care services.
The expansion into Wapakoneta comes as the Lima Memorial Physician network now sees an average of 20,000 patient visits from Wapakoneta each year.
“As a locally owned and operated health system, we are deeply invested in the health of our community,” said Michael Swick, president and CEO of Lima Memorial Health System. “This expansion allows us to continue to meet the growing needs of our patients and their families well into the future.”
The medical center started seeing patients at noon on Monday.
