Co-op donates $12,675 through Operation Round Up


LIMA — Paulding Putnam Electric Co-up members donated $12,675 to local organizations through PPEC’s Operation Round Up program.

Started in 2010 to encourage community engagement, PPEC members can donate the remaining dollars of their electric bills to the program, which are then sent to organizations that apply for the funding.

Donation recipients include Leipsic Community Center, $2,000 for summer breakfast/lunch program; Putnam County HomeCare & Hospice, $2,000 for low-income patient program; Antwerp Ball Association, $1,500 for concrete and turf in batting cage; Haven of Hope, Van Wert, $1,300 for new shelter washers and dryers; Continental EMS, $1,000 for laptop and lift harness; Lima Symphony Orchestra, $1,000 for a young person’s concert; MAV Youth Mentoring, $1000 for scholarships, school trips and contest fees; Paulding Co. Amateur Radio Club, $800 for portable generator and converters, Friends of the Paulding County Park, $575 for picnic tables and benches from bottle caps; and Enouf Cats of Payne, $500 for spay and neuter program.
