LIMA — The former Titan Scan Technologies building, 500 W. Fourth St, has been bought by the Husky Lima Refinery.
Purchased for $630,000, Husky Communications Manager Dawn Delaney said the company has no immediate plans for the property.
“The land that was purchased is adjacent to property that we own. We routinely purchase property around the refinery when it becomes available,” Delaney said in an email.
Built in 1950, the building had been used as a sterilization facility to clean medical supplies prior to being shuttered.
The building had also received some national attention back in 2001 when federal agents worked with Titan Scan to sterilize U.S. mail suspected to carry anthrax at that facility.
Today, ads for the property highlight its logistical benefits thanks to its three loading docks and a “great distribution location, close to I-75.”
