This is an exciting November as we welcome The Smile Lines Project, a Columbus, Ohio born non-profit platform that uses the arts to celebrate the resiliency of the human spirit, the healing power of a mentor and the fierceness in a smile. The suicide rate of our Armed Service personnel was not ok with artist Suzanne Shea Gallagher. She decided to use a form of mentoring and positive psychology in a traveling exhibition of 40 paintings. This art is a living exhibition of Veteran volunteers who, Suzanne asked to share the hills and valleys in their individual smiles. All volunteers for this project were simply thriving while others have not.
The artist wanted to know why, how and share that knowledge. At the conclusion of the exhibition around the country each painting will be returned to the model with gratitude.
The Smile Lines Project is vibrant, colorful, profound art created to combat horrific loss of life. It is a platform to celebrate Resiliency.
Each piece of art is 11 x 14 matted and framed with a personal statement from each Veteran.
Please help us welcome Artist, Suzanne Shea Gallagher to Wapakoneta and Riverside Art Center!
