Putnam County pursuit ends in Lima


COLUMBUS GROVE — A Columbus Grove man was arrested after a Friday night pursuit.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has charged Michael B. Strykul, 52, with failure to comply with a lawful order of a police officer and operating a vehicle intoxicated. Additional charges are pending against Strykul after an incident Friday night at 212 N. High St., Columbus Grove.

According to a news release, the sheriff’s office got the call at 10:57 p.m. Friday that Strykul had taken his 4-year-old daughter from the residence after an argument with the child’s mother, Dorothy A. Selhorst, 43.

An officer spotted his vehicle and tried to stop him but a pursuit ensued.

The pursuit ended at 327 S. Roberts St. in Lima after officers used stop sticks. The child was returned to her mother unhurt.

Strykul is being held at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
