LIMA — The City of Lima’s public works department is prepping for its annual leaf pick program scheduled to start Nov. 16.
Starting that week, residents of the first, fourth, fifth and sixth wards are being asked to rake and pile leaves on the curb lawn. Pickup in the remaining wards will occur as crews move through the city.
Until then, smaller piles of leaves may be bagged and placed near the street for the regular trash pickup. Leaf bags are available, free of charge, to city residents at 900 S. Collett St. or at 424 N. Central Ave. Residents will need to show a copy of their water bill for pickup.
Residents are also being asked to not pile leaves on the curb lawn until the scheduled ward pickup. Once the program starts Nov. 16, weekly updates will be provided.
