We have a special event we would like you to be a part of, but first wanted to mention who we are. We are Guiding Light Minsitries in Lima Ohio. We opened our doors in 2013 in order to help young mothers care for their children and to become productive citizens. We evolved in 2015 into serving all ages, from all walks of life. At Guiding Light Ministries, our goal is to help women in need get their lives in order and onto better paths. Our Mission Statement is: We are dedicated to providing a safe environment for women and educating them on how to effectively care for themselves and their children. We work towards reducing long term government assistance.

We are a faith-based, transitional home for women. They come to us from a variety of tough situations, which include: homelessness, recovering addicts, domestic violence, sex trafficking, mental health issues, and more; from teenage years to elderly. While with us, we try to encourage a whole life change: mentally, spiritually, and physically. Guiding Light is dedicated to providing the highest quality educational program with the cornerstones of value, instilling self-worth among residents and staff, providing quality housing to ensure a safe and healthy environment, and to help mothers transition into a productive and responsible participant in society at large. We teach hands on life skills, encourage critical thinking skills, connect them community resources and help them to develop a relationship with God. Our goal is to change their lifestyles, one step at a time. Our short term goals for every woman:

1. To educate them on life skills such as budgeting, laundry, housekeeping, etc

2. To educate them on nutritional ways of eating for themselves and their child.

3. To connect them with available resources within the community.

4. Provide transportation and/or transportation assistance

5. To encourage positive mindsets, good decision-making skills, lifestyle changes, and morals.

We host a yearly fundraiser dinner called ‘Evening of Inspirtation’ where a few of the women from the program share their stories of success. This is a formal sit-down dinner. This is where you come in. We want to share these ladies stories with the world. God has done and is doing wonderful things in their lives.

The Guiding Light Ministries Evening of Inspiration will take place on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020, at 6 pm. This is a formal event. But if you don’t want to wear a tie, hey, we get it. The cost is $50/person or $250/table.

If you have questions or would like to know more about us, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My number is 419-204-0242 and our email is guidinglight@gmail.com. We are very grateful for the people who are able to give, in any way, and would love for you to prayerfully consider joining us or sponsoring a table. Also, the next time you are in town, we’d love to give you a tour and show you more of what our ministry is about.
