LIMA — Two people died Wednesday evening in a shooting at a northern Lima home in what police say appears to be a murder/suicide case.
Mikki Starr, 27, and Zachary Starr, 29, were found dead inside a residence at 624 W. Ford Ave. Wednesday afternoon from gunshot wounds, according to a press release from Detective Sgt. Jason Garlock of the Lima Police Department. Officers responded to the scene after a report of a possible shooting at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday.
Garlock said a preliminary investigation indicated Zachary Starr shot Mikki Starr before turning the firearm on himself. Both bodies were sent to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for autopsies.
“We had information from family members that there were some social media messages that gave us the indication that’s what we’re probably looking at right now,” Garlock said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Lima Police Department at 419-227-4444, Det. Sean Neidemire at 419-221-5295, Det. Jesse Harrod at 419-221-5296, Garlock at 419-221-5291 or Lima/Allen County Crime Stoppers at 419-229-STOP (7867).

She had owned the Ford Avenue home since March 2017. The former Mikki Marling graduated from Elida High School in 2012.
The two first met in May 2012 and married June 24, 2017, according to Zachary Starr’s Facebook page, which is full of photos of the couple playing with their children.
The couple had a son in July 2013 and a daughter in March 2019, according to birth announcements in The Lima News. They also had a stillborn child in July 2016.
