Aug. 20

Dale E. Collins, 48, 759 E. Perry St., Lot 12, Paulding, was found in violation of community control sanctions. The violations included consuming heroin. He will be sentenced at 3 p.m. Sept. 14. He was originally convicted of possession of drugs.

Jennifer E. Smith, 24, 203 N. Belmore St., Leipsic, was found in violation of community control standards. The violations included failing to contact her supervising officer, failing to reside at the required address, and failure to make the required payments. Sentencing was scheduled for 2 p.m. Sept. 14. She was originally charged with theft of checks.

Aug. 21

Tyler J. Duling, 29, 19497 State Route 115, Columbus Grove, was sentenced to 180 days jail for domestic violence and fined $1,000. The judge suspended 170 days of the jail, the fine, and gave him credit for two days served. Duling must complete all counseling and treatment recommended.

Aug. 24

Emilleo Guerra, 24, 505 N. Walnut St., Ottawa, was sentenced to 11 months in jail for violating the terms of supervision. The violations included trying to cause or attempted to cause physical harm or mental dismiss to the victim and using alcohol. He was placed on five years community control and given credit for 279 days served. He was originally convicted of possession of drugs (cocaine) and breaking and entering.

Cassandra R. Elston, 28, 14773 County Road B, Napoleon, was placed on five years community control for violating community control standards. The violations included consuming heroin and possessing drug paraphernalia, failure to complete the Serenity Haven program and leaving her residence without permission from the supervising officer. She must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended. She was originally convicted of receiving stolen property and burglary.

Aug. 26

Todd J. Rode, 21, 20914 Road 20S, Fort Jennings, was sentenced to 10 days jail for violating the terms of supervision. The violations included recklessly causing inconvenience, annoyance and alarm to the victim, submitting an adulterated urine specimen to his supervising officer and being unsuccessfully discharged from the substance abuse program at Pathways Counseling Center. He was placed on five years community control and was given credit for four days served. He must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment. He was originally convicted of aggravated possession of drugs.

Aug. 27

Johnny G. Rakes, 44, 135 W. Second St., Fort Jennings, was sentenced to 180 days jail for possession of cocaine. He was placed on five years community control and given credit for one day served. He was referred to the WORTH Center in lieu of jail. He must complete all counseling and treatment recommended. A charge of tampering with evidence was dismissed.

Jason Meek, 46, 610 Stickney Ave., Toledo, was sentenced to 180 days jail for attempted forgery. The judge suspended 176 days and gave him credit for one day served. He was also fined $1,000 which was suspended pending successful completion of probation. He must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended and have no contact with the victim and pay $332.50 restitution.

Aug. 28

Travis Tapia, 9952 State Route 109, Ottawa, was found in for contempt for failing to pay child support as previously ordered. He was found to be in total arrears in the amount of $1,370.68. Sentencing in the matter was set for 10 a.m. Dec. 1.

Sept. 1

Colin R. Sickels, 25, 17921 State Route 190, Fort Jennings; pleaded guilty to an amended charge of vehicular assault. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 8.

According to reports of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Sickels was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion southbound on Road 21 at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 2, 2020 at the intersection of State Route 189 and Road 21 in Jennings Township. Sickels failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with an eastbound 2009 Nissan Sentra driven by Rounette St. Pierre, 49, Fort Jennings, who was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s for treatment of injuries.

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

Aug. 24

Jefferson S. Mathews, 35, 7845 Hofferbert Road, Elida, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, 174 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP. Charges of seat belt and failure to control were dismissed.

Aug. 25

Nicole M. Bensinger, 36, 421 E. Main St., Leipsic, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-offense reckless operation. Sentence: 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $250 fine, with credit given for three days jail upon completion of DIP. She was also fined $100 for failure to obey traffic control device.

Cody R. Hess, 26, 202 S. High St., Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, 174 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP, and complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center. He was also fined $150 for unsafe vehicle and court costs for driving under FRA non-compliance.

Nickales I. Ramon, 29, 19366 State Route 15, Continental, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP and complete a drug/alcohol assessment. He was also fined court costs for improper parking. Another charge of OVI was dismissed.

Derek Delarosa, 31, 1570 N. Perry St., Lot 29, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension license forfeiture. Sentence: $150 fine.

Aug. 27

Xandra S. Badertscher, 21, 3620 County Road 28, Bluffton, pleaded no contest to making false alarms and was found guilty. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, $250 fine, complete mental health assessment and complete 100 hours of community service.

Marcus A. Gutierrez, 20, 62 Main St., West Leipsic, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of reckless operation. Sentence: $150 fine.
