State Patrol investigating school bus crash


PERRY TOWNSHIP — The Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a non-injury crash involving a Perry schools bus and commercial semi tractor-trailer at 7:55 a.m. Thursday on Hanthorn Road, west of state Route 117 in Perry Township.

The two sideswiped traveling opposite directions, and the crash remains under investigation.

The 2015 Freighliner pulling an empty tanker trailer, driven by Walter Ulishney, 48, of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, was westbound on Hanthorn Road while the 2015 Bluebird school bus, driven by Cary Hengstler, 61, of Wapakoneta, was traveling eastbound.

The bus had two students on board. No injuries were reported at the scene, and both vehicles sustained only minor damage.
