Missing child found in Putnam County field

OTTAWA — Putnam County 911 responded to a call regarding a missing one-year-old at 10:02 a.m. Tuesday.

Law enforcement and fire department were dispatched to 1712 Road P-1 where Ella Lehman reported her son went missing while they were playing outside. The property is surrounded by a cornfield and includes a pond on site.

Due to it’s proximity to the Hancock County line, the county sheriff’s office K-9 unit arrived to the scene at 10:38 a.m. and found the child in the field shortly after.

Assisting units included the Punam and Hancock county sheriff’s departments, the Pandora, Columbus Grove and Leipsic police departments, the Pandora Fire Department, Putnam County EMS and Life Flight.
