LIMA — A Lima family is having financial difficulties after a fire Saturday morning destroyed the duplex they were staying in in the 100 block of West Circular Street.
In the fire, a family member, 14-year-old Michael Gillyard-Fernandez, died, and Jervon Fernandez-Wesley, 18, was arrested on an arson charge.
Donations to help defray the cost of the funeral can be dropped off at Jones-Clark Funeral Home in Lima. They’ll be taking donations through Aug. 28. Canisters will also be placed throughout the community.
