Suspected arsonist held on $1 million bond

LIMA — An 18-year-old Lima man held on a single count of arson made his initial appearance in Lima Municipal Court on Tuesday via closed-circuit television.

Bond for Jervon Fernandez-Wesley was set at $1 million.

He’s accused of setting the fire Saturday morning that killed 14-year-old Michael Gillyard in the 100 block of West Circular Street in Lima.

A preliminary hearing for Fernandez-Wesley is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 at in Lima Municipal Court. Attorney Jerry Pitts is representing Fernandez-Wesley.
