Peaceful protest draws complaints in Ottawa

OTTAWA — Ottawa police report they have received multiple concerned citizen complaints in reference to alleged actions by a peaceful protest that moved through Ottawa on Saturday.

Around 10:30 p.m., a Black Lives Matter caravan went through Ottawa on U.S. 224.

Police say this group was peaceful and exercising their first amendment rights to the United States Constitution.

Police also say they’ve heard reports that the group caused damage to property and threatened citizens. Police say these complaints are not true.
