CELINA — The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Celina Police Department, in conjunction with the Grand Lake Task Force, recently participated in a two-day statewide initiative against drugs called “Operation Blue Light.”
During the event, law enforcement made 16 traffic stops and issued nine citations and 18 warnings for various traffic violations. Five misdemeanor citations for drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and obstructing official business were also issued. Officers arrested five people on outstanding warrants and/or drug-related charges.
Sheriff Jeff Grey and Celina Police Chief Tom Wale both stated their agencies will continue their push on keeping the local community safe with efforts like this.
