LAFAYETTE — Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a fatal fire in Allen County Tuesday morning.
According to an officer with the Allen County Sheriff’s office, a neighbor saw smoke coming from 596 N. Phillips Road just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The neighbors tried to extinguish the blaze with a garden hose until firefighters from the Lafayette Jackson Fire Department arrived on the scene.
Inside, they found the body of an unidentified male.
The Allen County Auditor’s website indicates the property is owned by John and Raelene McCoy and the property is valued at $131,200.
No other information was available late Tuesday.
