July 14
Johnny G. Rakes, 44, 135 W. Second St., Fort Jennings, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine. He faces up to one year in prison and $1,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 10 a.m. Aug. 27. A charge of tampering with evidence was dismissed.
July 15
Mike Pardo III, 23, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for felonious assault. Charges of tampering with evidence and assault were dismissed. The sentence was ordered to be served consecutively and he was ordered to pay $478.97 restitution to the victim. Pardo was convicted of an incident last Sept. 27, 2019 at the Putnam County Adult Detention Facility in Ottawa. Pardo physically assaulted a female corrections officer because he was in possession of a bag of marijuana he obtained from another inmate. To avoid the officer seizing the drug, he swallowed it. Pardo assaulted her when she assisted him when he was choking on the bag. The officer suffered a torn labrum in her hip in the incident and two herniated discs requiring surgery.
July 16
Tiffany Chasco, 32, 202 High St., Columbus Grove, was placed on five years community control for attempted failure to register. She must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all treatment and counseling recommended.

July 10
Derek D. Tussing, 29, 105 Plum St., Columbus Grove, pleaded no contest to persistent disorderly conduct and was found guilty. Sentence: 30 days jail, 28 days suspended, $100 fine, suspended.
July 13
Roberto Rosales, Jr., 48, 229 Valleywood Drive, Toledo, pleaded guilty to second offense OVI. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 90 days suspended, $1,000 fine, $475 suspended, three-year license suspension, and complete drug and alcohol assessment. He also pleaded guilty to assault. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended. Charges of driving under OVI suspension and expired plates were dismissed.
Connor J. Dawson, 22, 10110 Rockport Road, Bluffton, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. Charges of marked lanes and distracted driving were dismissed.
July 14
Kenneth P. Grote, 47, 21897 Road N, Cloverdale, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of reckless operation, Sentence: $150 fine. A charge of headlights required was dismissed.
