Lima motorcyclist injured in Wednesday night crash


LIMA – A Lima man was seriously injured Wednesday night when his motorcycle struck an oncoming vehicle.

According to the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Michael Morey, 40, of Lima, was operating a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Allentown Road near the intersection of Dutch Hollow Road shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday. The motorcycle traveled left of center and sideswiped a westbound 2008 Jeep Wrangler driven by 16-year-old Dalton Hahn, of Lima.

Morey was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center with serious injuries by American Township EMS. Hahn did not claim injury at the time of the crash. Impairment was not a factor in this crash, according to the patrol. Morey was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.

The patrol was assisted at the scene by American Township Fire Department, American Township EMS, Army’s Towing and Miller’s Towing.
