LIMA — David Shepherd, of Lima, owns this 1963 Oldsmobile F85 Cutlass convertible. He recently brought it to the Buffalo Wild Wings Cruise-In, held on Monday nights at the Allentown Road location.
Shepherd is not new to the ownership of a 1963 Olds Cutlass.
“I bought a new one in 1963 when I was 17,” Shepherd said. “This one was just like that one, except that one had black interior.”
Shepherd has owned this one since 2015. He actually saved this beauty from being converted to a rat-rod.
“It was a mess. Me and my buddy worked on it for over a year. We just got it done in 2016,” Shepherd said.
The first year for the F85 was 1961. The two-door coupes debuted in May of 1961. For the 1963 model year, the body was restyled to a more square design than the 1961 and 1962 model years.
Shepherd’s car includes a 350 engine.
He doesn’t let his car sit.
“I drive it everywhere. I’ve put 10,000 miles on since I got it done in 2016,” Shepherd said.
