Storms, high winds leave little damage in their wake

VAN WERT — Storms passing through Northwest Ohio on Thursday and Friday dropped varying amounts of rainfall on the area but resulted in little serious damage.

Rick McCoy, director of the Van Wert County Emergency Management Agency, said high winds on Thursday resulted in heavy damage to one of four movie screens at the Van Del Drive-in in Middle Point. The largest and main screen at the drive-in was not damaged, he said.

Other wind damage was reported in the southern part of the county, as a barn roof was blown off in the Jonestown area. Tree limbs and debris were also prevalent.
