Coldwater man identified as jet ski fatality


CELINA — The Mercer County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man who died Monday in a personal watercraft accident on Grand Lake St. Marys.

A spokeswoman in the office of Dr. Timothy Heinrichs said Wednesday that Trevor Mobley, 26, of Coldwater, died of “multiple trauma secondary to a jet ski accident.”

The fatal mishap took place at approximately 12:40 a.m. Monday on Grand Lake St. Marys. Mobley’s body reportedly was discovered near the scene of the accident. A passenger, Corey Kuether, 29, of Montezuma, survived with only minor injuries.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources investigated the mishap and was assisted by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Montezuma Fire Department and the Celina Fire Department.
