CELINA — A Rockford man and a Lima woman were arrested on drug charges Wednesday following a traffic stop conducted by Mercer County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
At approximately 7 p.m. a deputy observed a male motorist known to have a suspended driver’s license. During the traffic stop the deputy suspected the possibility of narcotics within the vehicle and called for a K-9 officer, who arrived and conducted a “walk around.” The K-9 alerted to the car and a search was conducted. Marijuana, prescription pills, white powder and drug instruments were found inside the car. There was a preliminary test conducted on the white powder, which indicated that it was methamphetamine.
After consulting with prosecutors, deputies arrested both occupants of the vehicle. William Fetters, 46, of Celina, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and driving under suspension. A passenger, Pamela Renee King, 27, of Lima, was charged with possession of methamphetamine. The owner of the car, 67-year-old Carolyn Fetters, was also cited for wrongful entrustment for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive her car.
Bond for Fetters was set at $100,000. King’s bond was set at $50,000.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Rockford PD and the Coldwater Police Department K-9 Unit.
