PUTNAM COUNTY — Nine people, including six juveniles, escaped serious injury in a two-vehicle collision in Putnam County on Monday night.
Deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after 10 p.m. Monday to the intersection of state Routes 613 and 15 in Palmer Township in reference to a report of one person who was injured and another who was entrapped in their vehicle.
According to deputies, Ashleigh Doster, 36, of Leipsic, was traveling eastbound on state Route 613 and, after stopping at the intersection of state Route 15, pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Stephanie Watkins, 28, of Continental.
Watkins had to be extricated by mechanical means and was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. A passenger in Watkins’ vehicle, James Brown, was not injured.
Doster and six juvenile passengers in her vehicle all escaped injuries. All were wearing safety belts, according to the sheriff’s office.
