Police ID 25-year-old Lima woman as victim found in Martin Luther King Jr. Park

The Lima Police Department identified 25-year-old McKenzie Butler, of Lima, as the person found dead at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center Park on Saturday.

LIMA — The Lima Police Department has identified the victim whose body was found buried in Martin Luther King Jr. Park over the weekend as McKenzie Butler, 25, of Lima.

Police discovered Butler’s body buried in the woods on the south side of the park on Saturday. The Lucas County Coroner’s Office completed an autopsy on Monday, but a cause of death has not been released at this time.

Lima Police on Saturday arrested Melvin Boothe, 28, also of Lima, on suspicion of murder. Charges are pending. A preliminary hearing is set for 10:45 a.m. Monday.
