Las Vegas police nab couple wanted in Lima double murder


LIMA — Two suspects wanted in the June 3 homicide of Charles and Tarissa Sanders have been captured in Las Vegas.

Clinton Owens Jr., 32, and Michelle Alves, 31, were taken into custody by Las Vegas Metro Police Department. Lima police are working on extradition details to bring the suspects back to Ohio.

Alves is wanted for murder while the warrant for Owens is for having weapons under disability.

The shooting took place June 3 at an Atlantic Avenue residence on the city’s south side. The Lima Police Department responded to a call at 8:15 a.m. to 413 S. Atlantic Ave. after a report of shots fired. According to LPD Detective Steve Stechschulte, two individuals were found inside the residence when police arrived. Tarissa Sanders was deceased and Charles Sanders died at a local hospital. According to Stechschulte, both victims died of gunshot wounds.

The two deaths involve the sixth and seventh person to die this year in Lima either as a result of gunfire or a stabbing.
